Background

One Sunday afternoon in October 2006, four people from different walks of life connected over one cause: to play our part in improving the quality of life for people affected by HIV/AIDS. Our aim was to pave a path for people like ourselves to give to a charitable cause in an easy and personal way.

We wanted to allow like-minded people to connect, just as we did, and allow them to have full visibility and weight in decisions over the projects we would choose.  We wanted people to know that their opinions were valued; our charity is one for people, who donate to it as well as to the end benefactors in our chosen projects. We wanted people to feel that they should not be pressurised to donate money, that their time is just as valuable, as are their skills. Anything to “play our part”.

Over a series of meetings, great culinary skills and sharing of charitable ideas, POP was born. POP would be different, POP would act as a social network between like-minded individuals, POP would be the bridge between young professionals and the world affected by HIV/AIDS.

We welcome all individuals to our community and look forward to playing our part in society.
