Pop Top Bus

The impact of not having transportation compounds issues for people living with HIV – especially orphans. When there is no access to hospitals and doctors, even minor health issues can become life threatening.  It might also mean that children do not get access to education, since schools are often located too far away in rural areas to be reached by foot. Reliable transport allows orphaned children access to hospitals, medication and schools. POP is planning to offer a variety of vehicles and transport soultions for the projects it supports - tailored to the needs of each orphanage. Transport also allows outreach projects to support and assist older children looking after their families affected by HIV /AIDS, who choose to remain in their homes and communities. Any support given will including an amount to pay for some of the running costs of the vehicles, an area often overlooked.

Save lives and ensure a brighter future by helping to raise money for a bus or by either donating a one off sum or purchasing a POP Top.

‘Currently villagers have to walk or be carried by bicycle 50-70kms to get to the nearest once a day bus that will take them a further 50kms to the District hospital. This situation exacerbates the effects of AIDS and also the numerous other health problems routinely experience in the village.’ (Mufindi Orphans and Mufindi Rural Medical Project)
